Handling all areas of the pharmacy for coverage purposes. Will be cross-trained to ensure they know all departments :

Pre-Qa : Data entry techs needs to be familiar with utilizing short codes (IE : PO for by mouth, T for tablet, Etc.), sound alike / look alike drugs, package sizes or stock sizes for medications. These technicians are responsible for typing the prescriptions for each patient along with identifying any mistakes on prescriptions and sending back to the appropriate parties for clarification. They are the quality team verifying all prescriptions details are correct before the patient is scheduled and the drug is packaged and sent out. They should be familiar with common audit risks and how to read a prescription.

Image Indexing : Indexing is where we receive all faxes, these need to be sorted and attached to the proper patient profiles. From Indexing, the prescription drops into pre-Qa which is our data entry queue. This is where the prescription is typed into the patient’s chart. - Accurate typing skills - Attention to detail - good communication & teamwork. Not all images received will be a prescription, we also receive approvals from the drug manufacturer for Free Drug patients.

Pharmacist Call Back : This role is responsible for reaching out to doctor’s offices to obtain a refill on a prescription or to clarify prescription information for individual patients. It is a very important role as these specialized medications are vital to the patient’s health so accuracy of information and the data entry after obtaining the information is key. They will also be responsible for providing patients with updates on their new scripts or prescription refills. - Accurate typing skills - Attention to detail - good communication. This technician should be familiar with taking verbal prescriptions over the phone, addressing adverse events and have strong phone skills.

Training for a month on first shift 8 : 30am - 5pm then working actual shift 9 : 30am - 6pm

Must Have :

Certified Michigan Pharmacy Tech License

2-3 years of pharmacy experience preferrably in a specialty pharmacy

Data entry, customer service and prior authorization experience

Nice To have :

Script Med Experience

IV / Infusion

Free drug programs experience

High Volume prescription processing

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00 / hr.
