Job description

Veselka Williamsburg is seeking a part-time Busser with weekend availability.

As a Busser, you play a crucial role in ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests while being an important part of the operation.The ideal candidate will be dedicated, ambitious and seeking opportunities to grow their career. At Veselka, Bussers are hardworking and friendly, operate in a quick and efficient manner with a passion to maintain their restaurant and accommodate the needs of its guests. The position’s core functions will involve serving food orders in a timely manner, helping guests with their needs during service hours and assisting servers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Acting as a contact point between the FOH staff and BOH staff, and acting as a contact point between customers and wait staff;
  • Communicating any food related issues to the Manager, wait staff and BOH staff;
  • Ensuring sufficient supply of sauces are available during service hours;
  • Refilling water, coffee and hot water when needed;
  • Assisting with cleaning any spills in the dining area
  • Bringing food items from the kitchen when needed;
  • Following food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety;
  • Fulfilling management requests, such as minor cleaning and any other related tasks.
  • Welcoming guests as they arrive and thanking them as they leave;
  • Assisting in seating guests if hostess is occupied;
  • Removing tableware such as dishes, glasses and utensils to keep tables from becoming too crowded;
  • Clearing tables of dirty dishes, glasses, utensils and napkins after guests left;
  • Resetting tables with clean silverware, napkins, and glassware so those are ready for next guests;
  • Ensuring the availability of clean dishes, flatware and glasses during service hours;
  • Opening and closing the outside section of the restaurant, setting up tables and chairs;
  • Helping dishwashers by sorting and organizing used tableware before bringing them to the dish pit and clearing leftover food and trash into trash cans;
  • Refilling water, coffee and hot water during service hours;
  • Keeping the restrooms stocked, clean, and tidy but performing routine checks every 30 minutes;
  • Moving products to / from storage facility when needed;

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks at once;
  • Strong communication skills working in a team environment;
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and efficiency;
  • Physical stamina to stand and work for extended periods of time;
  • Knowledge of food production and service, including safe storage practices;
  • Organization skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience in the hospitality industry with a background in food service;
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
