Job Title : Sales Trainee – HVAC Distribution
Department : Sales / Operations
Reports To : Branch Manager or Territory Sales Manager
Location : Position Summary :
The Sales Trainee will learn all aspects of HVAC distribution operations with the goal of preparing for a full-time role in inside or outside sales. This hands-on training program includes exposure to warehouse operations, counter sales, inside sales, customer service, and field sales. The trainee will gain product knowledge, understand customer needs, and develop the skills required to promote and sell residential and light commercial HVAC products and accessories.
Key Responsibilities :
- Participate in a structured training program covering branch operations, inventory management, and sales processes.
- Assist with counter sales , including customer inquiries, order entry, and product recommendations.
- Support inside sales by preparing quotes, checking product availability, and processing orders.
- Learn to identify customer needs and provide effective product solutions.
- Shadow outside sales representatives to understand territory management, customer visits, and relationship building.
- Gain technical knowledge of HVAC equipment, parts, and accessories from leading manufacturers.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Develop strong communication and customer service skills.
Qualifications :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent HVAC, technical, or sales experience considered.Interest in pursuing a career in HVAC distribution or sales.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Basic mechanical or technical aptitude a plus.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse / counter environment as needed.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Training & Advancement :
