Strategic Sourcing Manager II
6-month contract
Hybrid on-site in Princeton, NJ
The Strategic Sourcing Manager tasks include :
- Responsible for managing end-to-end strategic sourcing processes, from analysis through negotiation and contracting.
- Recommend appropriate strategies and tactics to obtain desired results.
- Collaborate with the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) team and Contract Management as needed.
- Operate within Otsuka’s Preferred Supplier Programs with specific policies, procedures, and tools.
- Develop and review specifications, statements of work, performance terms, and / or acceptance criteria.
- Plan and launch major RFx events and assist the team in an organized evaluation and selection process.
- Analyze supply market and procurement data to support category strategies.
- Assist business partners in identifying and transitioning to new suppliers.
- Monitor and manage project baselines to ensure activities occur as planned, including scope, budget, and schedule.
Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.Minimum of 3 years of business experience within the pharmaceutical industry.Strong project and contract management skills combined with experience in strategic sourcing practices, vendor dashboards, and cost reduction initiatives.Experience interacting with senior-level clients and vendors.Demonstrated experience working with multiple commercial functions to execute concurrent sourcing projects.Ability to analyze complex datasets and manage multiple priorities effectively.Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the sales and marketing of new drugs.Robust knowledge of sourcing strategies within pharmaceutical commercial categories, with demonstrated expertise in the discipline.Experience interacting with senior-level clients and vendors; able to evaluate situations from multiple angles and remain sensitive to stakeholder needs while maintaining focus on organizational value.Demonstrated experience managing multiple commercial sourcing projects concurrently.Strategic thinker able to anticipate trends, understand implications, and create actionable plans to prepare for future needs.
