Work Environment
The work is completed outside at the construction site, and can include renovating occupied facilities such as hospitals, labs, nursing homes, etc. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (Hardhats and safety glasses). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and able to talk and hear other employee talking. The employee must be able to lift and / or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Expected Hours of Work
Full time position, occasional extended hours and weekends may apply.
Travel
Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.
Required Education and Experience
1. Minimum two years of carpentry experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Minimum two years of carpentry experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Must understand safety rules and tool / equipment instructions.
2. Have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.
3. Have good communication skills both orally and in writing.
4. Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.
5. Ability to problem solve when errors occur.
6. Keep tools and workspace organized.
7. Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
8. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
9. Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
10. Must have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.
