Richland County First Steps is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dishwasher / Custodian to join our team! This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our early childhood center.

Key Responsibilities :

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, bottles, tableware, and utensils following health and safety guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of general areas, including restrooms, hallways, shared workspaces, laundry areas, and entryways.
• Follow proper cleaning and sanitation procedures, including handling cleaning chemicals safely
• Assist with meal preparation and family-style dining procedures as needed
• Ensure compliance with monthly cleaning audits

Qualifications :

Ability to work independently after training and follow cleaning / sanitation guidelines

Must be able to read and comprehend labels on cleaning products and job instructions

Must pass annual background checks (SLED and DSS, including Sexual Registry)

Reliable transportation and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks involving standing, bending, and stooping
