Job descriptionShare personal recovery experiences and model healthy coping strategies Support individuals in building confidence, resilience, and community connections Assist with goal-setting and navigating treatment and support systems Help individuals recognize and build on their own strengths Participate as a valued member of the treatment team Provide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this position Complete required state training, supervision, and certification processes (if not already certified) High School / GED required Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services Must complete a state-approved training program, pass a standardized examination, complete certification process within 60 days of hire date, and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MCB (MO). Required only when applicable. A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required Are in recovery and want to use your story to inspire others Understand the importance of peer connection, self-determination, and community support Are empathetic, reliable, and able to build trusting relationships Communicate openly and respectfully with others from all walks of life Are excited to be part of a supportive clinical team

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.

As a Peer Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience with behavioral health or substance use recovery to inspire hope, support growth, and walk alongside individuals as they build the life they want.
