As a Peer Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience with behavioral health or substance use recovery to inspire hope, support growth, and walk alongside individuals as they build the life they want. Key Responsibilities
Share personal recovery experiences and model healthy coping strategiesSupport individuals in building confidence, resilience, and community connectionsAssist with goal-setting and navigating treatment and support systemsHelp individuals recognize and build on their own strengthsParticipate as a valued member of the treatment teamProvide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this positionComplete required state training, supervision, and certification processes (if not already certified)Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
High School / GED requiredWORK EXPERIENCE
Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder servicesMust complete a state-approved training program, pass a standardized examination, complete certification process within 60 days of hire date, and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MCB (MO). Required only when applicable.A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage requiredYou’ll Be A Great Fit for This Role if You :
