Bioinformatics Engineer
The Select Group is looking for a Bioinformatics Engineer to join the team at one of our top life sciences clients. The team works with next gen sequencing and diagnostic instruments that help detect lung cancer and reproductive diseases. This person will be working on the bioinformatics pipeline, and will be testing existing and new features on the next gen sequencing applications / platforms.
What you'll bring :
- Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of work experience OR
- Masters Degree and 3+ years of experience OR
- PhD and 2+ years of experience
- Degree in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Computational Science, + others in the science field
- 3 years of coding experience and proficiency with at least 1 language (preference on Python)
- Familiarity and experience with Linux command lines
- Prior experience with next gen sequencing
- Soft skills : detail oriented, team player, flexible, able to work in fast paced environments
Your impact :
Analyze the requirements for data analysis pipelines and visualizations to support various applications (Oncology, Reproseq, Immuno-oncology, CarrierSeq etc) and translate them to software specifications.Help software development team to understand and design the complex Informatics and Data Visualization features. Work closely with developers to implement software featuresWrite and execute test protocols to validate the features and data analysis pipelinesTroubleshooting the data analysis pipeline and software issues.Check the correctness of output Compare output data with other equivalent systemsPerform system performance profilingPerform test automation with Python and JavaPrepare FDA submission documentation when neededCollaborate with cross functional teamTSG is an equal opportunity employer.
