Sr. Specialist, Program Management
We are seeking an Operational Program Manager with extensive experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing to lead operations, manage cross-functional teams, and execute complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, team leadership, and process improvements within high-tech environments, focusing on wire harnesses, test systems, and engineering facilities. This role emphasizes delivering on-time, on-budget projects, fostering customer relationships, and driving innovation in alignment with organizational goals, ideally suited for someone with hands-on experience in design, detailing, and compliance in aerospace programs.
Essential Functions :
- Lead Execution - Oversee project deployment from planning to completion, including design, detailing, and integration of wire harnesses, test systems, and assemblies, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and standards.
- Project Governance - Maintain documentation, track milestones, funding, and schedules, while generating proposals for new projects and ensuring all details are communicated to project teams.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Develop metrics for yield, cost, and schedule adherence, creating status reports and using tools like Excel and PLM systems for data tracking and analysis.
- Stakeholder Alignment - Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, managing liaison efforts, resolving issues, and facilitating onsite support.
- Risk and Issue Management - Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and handle non-conformances (NCs) and dispositions, deciding on solutions such as use-as-is, rework, or scrap.
- Continuous Improvement - Implement process improvements, incorporate lessons learned, and ensure compliance with standards like MIL standards, GD&T, and IPC certifications.
- Change Management - Lead change initiatives, provide training, and manage teams through transitions in technology and processes, promoting a culture of innovation and accuracy.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Experience in project management, operations, and design within aerospace, defense, or manufacturing sectors.4 years of EVMS experience.Demonstrated leadership in managing teams of 20 people or more and overseeing multiple projects delivered on time and on budget.Expertise in problem-solving, drawing checks, GD&T application per ASME Y14.5, and using PLM systems like TeamCenter for tracking progress.Hands-on experience with design tools such as Inventor, and SolidWorks, including wire harness design and schematics.Strong record in customer engagement, proposal generation, and ensuring compliance with client requirements and technical standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting, tracking, and communication.Ability to attain Secret Clearance with the US government.Preferred Additional Skills :
Certifications such as IPC 620, IPC 620 Space Addendum, IPC J-STD, IPC J-STD Space Addendum, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5), and Tolerance Stack-ups (ASME Y14.5-2009).Experience in aerospace programs including onsite customer support and team building.Familiarity with Model-Based Definition (MBD), value stream mapping, and inventory control in engineering facilities.Advanced skills in risk assessment, material planning, and fostering strategic partnerships with stakeholders.Proven ability in mentoring talent and driving continuous improvement.Adaptability in fast-paced environments, with a hands-on approach using multiple tools and programs.Experience working in cleanroom environments or handling delicate parts is a plus.
