Job descriptionMinimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months. Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer, through RELIAS, only (with 2 MAX attempts). There is also a PASS / FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.) MUST HAVE a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years. Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters. Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical. 12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a) Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time. 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule. Rotate in with the perm staff No call required # of beds : CRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED Beds Ratios : 1 to 4 Required certifications : BLS, ACLS Common diagnoses / Types of patients : ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS / Tele Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone Charge Nurse / House Supervisor : ED charge nurse. Are there nurse aids on this unit / Ratios : ED PCTs available RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) : No Vents Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips. No monitor tech in the ED. Unit / Department specific orientation : 2 shifts orientation to Med / Surg / Tele at primary campus. Would float to med / surg / tele / overflow units and CRMC / MGMC Eds as needed. Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medicaton administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment. 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule; first to float, could float to sister facility Mercy Gilbert
