Position Specific Description

Gexa Energy is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the energy industry, working alongside experienced professionals to support sales and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the energy sector, excellent analytical skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Interns in this position may work in one of several departments including sales, operations, growth & transformation, or consulting.

Focus Areas

• Assist in gathering and analyzing data related to market trends, prices, and supply / demand dynamics.
• Contribute to the preparation of daily and monthly demand / usage reports for internal use.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting on market risks and opportunities.
• Aid in ensuring that all activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Contribute to maintaining and updating databases and systems for tracking supply and distribution.
• Support data entry and quality control processes.
• Help prepare communication materials and presentations for various audiences.
• Participate in special projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay current with industry developments and best practices through continuous learning.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a degree program with a focus in Energy Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

Education, Experience, Skills

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate data effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.

High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Capacity to work independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives.

Eager to learn about the energy industry and what it takes to be successful.

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor's degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assists department with assigned projects

Completes challenging projects and assignments

Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship

Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High school grad / GED

Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program

Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
