Shifts are 5 8's Mon-Fri. Position floats between Southpoint Durham Clinic and main DUHS Cancer Center. Some remote flexibility

Occ Summary

Independently plan and provide professional nursi ng care for patientsin accordance with physician orders and established policies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and familie s inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Work Performed

Plan, provide, super vise and document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physicianorders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and resp onse to care.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licens ed andunlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the de livery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate correctiv e action to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and mate rial resources.Participate in own professional development by maintainin g requiredcompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropria teassistance or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the d evelopment of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identifi cation of clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities a nd in performance improvement activities.Perform other related duties in cidental to the work described herein.

Education

Work requires gradua tion from an accredited BSN program.Exception : Registered nurses hired b etween July 1, 2014 and April 11,2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nur sing (or higher) are encouragedto enroll in an appropriate BSN program w ithin two years of their startdate but must complete the program within seven years of their startdate. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2 014 are not required toenroll in a BSN program to remain in this job cla ssification.

Experience

Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.

Degrees, Licensures, Certificati ons

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of Nor thCarolina. BLS required.
