ARC Alternative and Renewable Construction LLC is seeking a skilled Field Signaling Inspector to join our team for an exciting 3rd shift opportunity, working from midnight to 8 AM. As a key member of the field team, you’ll oversee the installation, integration, and testing of bi-directional signaling systems, ensuring high-quality results in various environments. You will also be actively involved in internal and client project reviews, hands-on design, testing sessions, and the interpretation of complex construction documents.

Salary Range from $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
Responsibilities
Inspection and oversight of bi-directional signaling system installation, integration, testing and cutover including track circuits, control points, control lines and interlockings. Scheduled inspection and oversight activities include day / night and weekday / weekend work.
Participate in internal and client project reviews.
Participate in schematic, design implementation and testing / integration work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Design staff and other disciplines.
Review specifications, design and construction submittals, and related documents.
Review interfacing designs with communications systems, rail vehicles, station signaling equipment and other transit systems elements.
Support requirements management, quality control and assurance, and demonstration of compliance.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications - External
Technical Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of signaling experience in similar positions with a Railroad / Transit Authority, Signaling Manufacturer, or Engineering firm, or equivalent, developing, installing or inspecting signaling and train control systems.
Ability to read and interpret design packages including design criteria, drawings and specifications and construction drawing packages.
Familiarity with systems development life cycle, from analysis, design, implementation through factory, field and acceptance testing and commissioning (preferably on both re-signaling and greenfield projects).
Familiarity with Mass Transit / Railroad operating concepts.
Understanding of FRA or FTA regulations and AREMA standards and practices.
Experience with basic IT tools such as MS Office programs.
The ability to work in this country immediately (required).
General Qualifications
The Field Signaling Inspector will be able to complete high-quality work in a team environment on-time, with minimal supervision. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, supervisors, team members and suppliers are a must, as are good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use structured methods to identify root causes, create resolution options, evaluate impacts and implement the selected solution.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to conduct oneself in all project and company matters according to approved policies and procedures in a professional manner.
Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
Preferred Experience
In addition, the successful candidate may be involved in developing and apportioning system-wide operational and technical requirements and the identification and management of interfaces between train control, rolling stock and other elements of rail systems. Additional experience preferred in this role includes :
AFTC signaling system familiarity.
Grade crossing modifications and enhancements.
Electrification modifications, either 3rd rail or OCS.
Familiarity with integration and interface coordination meetings.
Operations control center and SCADA experience.
Additional experience in infrastructure or other systems integration.
Familiarity with rail operations.
FRA / FTA safety certification and acceptance testing processes.
Vendor and client relationships - demonstrated successful completion of multiple vendor solutions on multiple client properties.
Previous experience mentoring less-experienced staff on the technical aspects of rail and transit signaling.
