At LDOE, our mission is to ensure that all children from birth to four will lead the way to kindergarten readiness. The Louisiana Department of Education's Early Childhood Operations is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to serve as an Administrative Program Specialist A which reports directly to the Executive Director. This role involves managing data, preparing reports, assisting with compliance tracking, and facilitating communication across departments. In addition, will serve as time administrator, oversee leases, provide support for the Licensing Division and administrative support to the Executive Director of Early Childhood Operations. The ideal candidate is organized, and detail-oriented.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION :
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Job Duties :
As an Administrative Program Specialist A you will perform responsible duties related to :
Payroll management
Coordination of program information by maintaining databases and generating reports
Maintaining information integrity
Handling a large volume of communication, including Licensing phone calls and emails
Presenting in workshops and meetings
Ensuring program compliance to Federal and State Regulations
Receives, stores, and distributes supplies; maintains inventory of such
Serves as clerical assistant to managers and directors, which may include keeping appointment schedule, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the manager of administrative matters
Update website information for LDOE Early Childhood Operations.
Support the Executive Director by managing calendars, preparing reports, and handling administrative tasks.
Develop and share professional communications, such as newsletters and division updates.
Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and events, including materials, locations, and communication.
Serve as a liaison with internal teams, external vendors, and school systems to ensure effective program implementation.
Draft, proofread, and distribute official communications, emails, and memos
Position-Specific Details :
Appointment Type : Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Work Schedule : Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
