Schedule : Full Time; Monday 8a-4p, Tuesday 8a-6p, Wednesday 8a-4p, Thursday 8a-5p, Friday 8a-2p, Every 3rd Saturday 9a-12p

The role youll contribute :
The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments.

Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or resultsPerforms clinical intake according to AHMG policy and proceduresMay be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialtyMay be required to travel as needed to fulfill staffing needsSafety / Whole careMust maintain education requirements for position and demonstrate competency, as requiredIs responsible for maintaining OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office complianceFollows safety processes and policies to ensure appropriate care is givenProvides and ensures patients receive whole care in all aspects of an office visit, regarding intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, closure of care gaps and all aspects necessary following AHMG policies.EfficiencyEnsures efficient office flow by preparing patient and equipment for the needed treatment and initiates testing and documents results into the practices designated system when appropriate.Clinical competencies must be passed annuallyMay include written testMust stay up to date and familiar with all policiesQualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed :
High School Grad or Equiv RequiredOne year of practical medical assisting experience PreferredKnowledge of health care field and medical terminologyKnowledge of chronic disease managementKnowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resourcesExpertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systemsAbility to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniquesAbility to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certificationAbility to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanorDemonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirementsExperience with computers requiredBasic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) RequiredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Required orNational Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT Required orNAHP Nat'l Reg Cert Med Asst (NAHPCMA) RequiredThis facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
