Job descriptionWork in the Cardiovascular ICU unit in a hospital setting Patient population consists of critically ill cardiac patients with estimated nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 1-2 Duties include IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz catheter use, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery lines Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required 36-hour work week with 12-hour day (7 : 00A-7 : 30P) or night (7 : 00P-7 : 30A) shifts Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period Rotating holiday coverage required Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed No on-call responsibility Responsibilities include advanced monitoring, cardiac procedures, and critical care for cardiovascular patients Must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting requirements prior to start Former employees are eligible if they have been separated from any Ohio State University hospital for 6 months or more Current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible for travel positions Time-off requests must be submitted during initial application Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers Must be prepared for rotation among units, but CVICU travelers will not be rotated more than once every 4 weeks Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications are required Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program is required Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred Epic EMR experience required Advanced cardiac skills including IV start, telemetry, vents, Swan-Ganz, sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines Previous travel experience preferred Two professional references required; at least one must be from a formal leader such as a manager or supervisor High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
