Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring OH or compact RN license, advanced cardiac skills, and Epic experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Cardiovascular ICU unit in a hospital settingPatient population consists of critically ill cardiac patients with estimated nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 1-2Duties include IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz catheter use, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery linesUses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required36-hour work week with 12-hour day (7 : 00A-7 : 30P) or night (7 : 00P-7 : 30A) shiftsRequired to work up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule periodRotating holiday coverage requiredMust float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as neededNo on-call responsibilityResponsibilities include advanced monitoring, cardiac procedures, and critical care for cardiovascular patientsMust be responsive and cooperative with credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting requirements prior to startFormer employees are eligible if they have been separated from any Ohio State University hospital for 6 months or moreCurrent employees at Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible for travel positionsTime-off requests must be submitted during initial applicationLocals are accepted at the same rate as travelersMust be prepared for rotation among units, but CVICU travelers will not be rotated more than once every 4 weeksRequirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of considerationBLS and ACLS certifications are requiredGraduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program is requiredMinimum of 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferredEpic EMR experience requiredAdvanced cardiac skills including IV start, telemetry, vents, Swan-Ganz, sedation, balloon pumps, and PA linesPrevious travel experience preferredTwo professional references required; at least one must be from a formal leader such as a manager or supervisorBenefits
