The Grand Forks County Correctional Center is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Correctional Officer . This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and welfare of inmates and staff in a correctional facility. No prior experience is necessary - we provide all required training. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in beginning a career in corrections or law enforcement.
Key Responsibilities :
Monitor inmate behavior to prevent disturbances, assaults, and escapes. Conduct regular security checks and headcounts. Supervise inmate activities and enforce facility rules. Respond to emergencies and maintain order in the facility. Escort inmates to and from cells, recreation, medical, and court appointments. Complete reports and maintain detailed logs of daily activities. Perform searches of individuals and areas for contraband. Participate in training and ongoing professional development.

STATUS AND HOURS : Full-time, benefit eligible - based on a 40 hours per week. 12.25 hours shifts, days, evenings, and rotating shifts available. Day shift is from 6 : 45 am to 7 : 00 pm. Evening shift is from 6 : 45 pm to 7 : 00 am. Rotating shifts switch from days to evenings every 28 days. Option to be full-time evening shift after completion of training. Targeted start date : October 1, 2025.
