Job description

As a Merchandising Sales Specialist, you will be an essential member of the Field Activity Support Team (FAST). Your primary responsibility will be to travel to various store locations in your assigned district to complete important merchandising tasks from start to finish. This includes executing planograms, supporting merchandise and fixture assembly, and maintaining store signage to deliver a remarkable shopping experience for our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent and predictable attendance.
  • Work scheduled shifts with the flexibility to accommodate varied hours, including days, nights, and overtime as business needs arise.
  • Communicate regularly with the District FAST Supervisor regarding work progress, challenges, and suggested solutions.
  • Execute planograms and resets promptly and accurately.
  • Uphold visual merchandising standards across all locations.
  • Conduct store-specific measurements and layout initiatives.
  • Perform precise cycle counts and adhere to the Tractor Way top cap process.
  • Display signage effectively and assemble merchandise, fixtures, and PDQs.
  • Ensure a thorough recovery and review of planogram integrity.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by applying the GURA approach :

Greet the Customer.

  • Uncover Customer's Needs & Wants.
  • Recommend Product Solutions.
  • Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
  • Guarantee customers enjoy a shopping experience that sets us apart from the competition.
  • Provide peak coverage during busy shopping periods, such as the Day After Thanksgiving.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

    • Required Qualifications

    Experience : Prior retail or merchandising experience is a must. A background in farming, ranching, pet / equine, or welding is a plus. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.

    Education : A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not mandatory. It is important for FAST Team Members to be able to read, write, and perform calculations accurately.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

  • Strong understanding of farming, ranching, pet / equine, or welding.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
  • Self-directed with the ability to complete tasks independently.

    • Working Conditions

  • Generally, a favorable working environment indoors with moderate noise levels.
  • Shift lengths vary from store to store, typically not less than 4 hours and may extend beyond 8 hours.
  • Travel between store locations using a personal vehicle is mandatory, with possible lengthy travel periods.
  • Commitment to promote a safe and productive workplace and adhere to safety training guidelines.
  • Work on hard surfaces both indoors and outdoors (concrete, asphalt), with appropriate lighting and temperature.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel as needed to support district operations.
  • Capability to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate equipment.
  • Occasional lifting and reaching overhead required.
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, bending, and climbing.
  • Access to all store areas, including sales floors, stock areas, and registers.
  • Ability to use store equipment such as computers and cash registers.
  • Accurate reading, writing, and counting skills for documentation purposes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with team members and customers.
  • Comfortable handling birds / poultry as required.
  • Ability to complete all required training successfully.
  • Relevant physical activities include sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, driving, standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
  • Must have the stamina to engage in prolonged movement and activity throughout the shift.
  • This position is not sedentary.
