As an Electrical Engineer, Atlas at Boston Dynamics, you will be a part of a growing, fast-moving robotics team. Every day you will work on designing compact, reliable electronics used in dense electromechanical systems. You will frequently work hands-on, in the lab, building and debugging electrical systems, ranging from small test setups to fully integrated prototype robots. Robotics includes a broad range of technical subjects within electrical engineering. To thrive in this role, you must be able to work efficiently on multiple development threads in separate, evolving contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design electronics for use in advanced robotics
• Develop designs for power, analog, and microcontroller based circuits
• Work cross functionally with mechanical engineers to miniaturize PCBs and increase performance
• Review designs, conduct failure analysis, and debug systems using strong circuit analysis fundamentals
• Use schematic capture and PCB layout software (We use Altium)
• Develop comprehensive design and test documentation
• Use a working understanding of command-line Linux to configure networks and run software on robots
• Use a wide variety of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, programmable loads, and spectrum analyzers to validate designs or figure out hard electrical engineering problems
