Oncology RN Job Details Location : Springfield, IL 62781 (Illinois healthcare jobs) Facility Setting : Acute Care Hospital – Oncology Unit (24 beds) Assignment Type : Travel RN Contract Start Date : December 15, 2025 End Date : March 16, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shifts per Week : 3 Shift Hours : 12-hour night shifts (18 : 45 – 07 : 15) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Estimated Weekly Pay : $2000 - $2050 Charting System : Cerner Scrub Color : Any solid color Parking : Free with permit Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or in application process At least 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience Chemo certification preferred (ONS / ONCC or OCN) Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred Ability to float to other units as needed Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract Strong IV therapy and chemotherapy administration skills Oncology Nurse Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care to adult and geriatric oncology and hospice patients Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects Perform IV therapy, including ports, central lines, and PICC line management Monitor and report abnormal lab values Educate and support patients and families throughout cancer treatment Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services) Float to other nursing units as required Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner Apply now to join our Springfield, Illinois healthcare team as an Oncology Registered Nurse and make a meaningful impact in oncology nursing!
