In this manufacturing engineering role, you will work actively on Industrialization of cell / array / pack factories with a diverse, multi-functional team to specify, deliver and commission state-of-the-art processes and equipment for the production of battery cells, arrays and packs that meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction in the New Energy Vehicles of tomorrow.
In addition to the industrialization of the battery cell / pack industrialization, you will have an exciting opportunity to innovate and develop next gen technology processes and methods to drive continuous improvement for cell $ / KWH.
You'll have...
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of battery manufacturing experience is a must
- 3+ years of experience / understanding of overall manufacturing processes and manufacturing business acumen
- Experience in voice of customer and relating customer need into potential solutions.
- Proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving industry, embracing new technologies and processes.
- Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience implementing large scale projects as a manufacturing engineer or project manager on new specialized manufacturing lines
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities
What you\'ll do...Provide plant assistance to support launch requests and extraordinary needs with existing cell suppliersSupport JV partner to develop manufacturing process. Lead, engineer line layouts, implement the Battery Manufacturing processes, and launch manufacturing facilities.Lead simultaneous engineering with product, purchasing and suppliers to deliver manufacturing feasibility. Drive design for manufacturability for new Cell and Module products.Travel required, 10% international, up to 25% domestic.Physical Requirements include accessing stairs and maneuvering long distances to include up to 0.5 mile. Position is in a 4 million sq.ft. manufacturing facility with multiple levelsAdditional Responsibilities may include :
Work closely with OEMs in the design of manufacturing equipment, process, and toolingLead development of quality methods including process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA), associated gauging requirements and inspection methods. Deliver a control plan per the quality strategyDevelop assembly system solutions including workstation requirements (work content, automated versus manual, buffering strategy, redundancy requirements, etc.)Define Cycle time, OEE, and other performance targets with industrial engineering to develop optimal operating and labor strategiesDefine equipment acceptance criteria including duration, target results, and quality inspection plansProvide relevant process documentation (drawings, PM plans, spare parts, training manuals)Lead equipment installation and coordinate with building and utility teamsLead on site equipment buyoff per acceptance proceduresManage schedule and budgetTrack and own change management to deliver quality, cost, and timingSupport plant operations to achieve system performance objectives OEE, Cycle time, JPHEnable successful process and system transitions to plant operationsAbility to support crew patterns, if neededJ-18808-Ljbffr
