Chief Purpose of this position : We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our dynamic pediatric academic emergency medicine team as a nocturnist. The candidate will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care, innovative research, and high-quality education in emergency medicine.
The position will hold a faculty appointment in the VCU Department of Emergency Medicine and will work clinically in Childrens Hospital of Richmond at VCU Pediatric Emergency Department (ED), which is a largely underserved, Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. The Pediatric ED treats over 28,000 patients per year and has experienced rapid growth in the past two years with the opening of a new dedicated pediatric Inpatient Hospital in 2023.
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in the VCU Department of Emergency Medicine houses a three-year Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship program. Additionally, Pediatric and Emergency Medicine residents both have rotations in the Pediatric ED.
Faculty may be recruited at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor commensurate with experience.
