Civil Engineer (Pomona)

An electric utility client is looking for a Civil Engineer who will Lead civil engineering efforts across all project phasesscoping, design, cost estimation, scheduling, and construction support.

Location : Pomona, CA 91768 (Hybrid)

Position : Civil Engineer (Lead or Senior Level)

Pay Rate : $98.77 / hr. 111.73 / hr on W2

Duration : 18 months or longer

Schedule : 1st shift, M-F, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, 2 days onsite (Wednesday and Thursday)

Travel : 25% travel across service territory; overnight stays may be required depending on project location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical Leadership : Lead civil engineering efforts across all project phasesscoping, design, cost estimation, scheduling, and construction support.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams (project management, construction, environmental, real estate) and external agencies.
• Field Engagement : Conduct job walks and provide engineering construction support across diverse geographical areas for Transmission, Substation and Distribution facilities. Can be 12 field days per week based on business need.
• Contractor Oversight : Manage civil engineering consultantsdefine scopes, review proposals, ensure quality, and maintain schedules.
• Quality Assurance : Perform QA for consultant deliverables, peer reviews, manage purchase orders, and approve invoices.
• Permitting & Compliance : Secure necessary permits and approvals from local jurisdiction agencies for civil engineering scope and work with business partners to support state, federal and other agency approvals
• Project Management : Balance multiple project schedules, provide technical leadership for civil engineering scope, monitor budgets and provide proactive communication with key stakeholders.
• Safety : Embed safety into engineering designs and promote a safety-first culture both in the office and on-site.
