This opportunity is in the Actuarial department

Our Actuarial department is a dynamic group of professionals focusing on pricing, reserving, and data analysis for all written lines of business. The actuarial team creates, maintains and updates pricing models for underwriters to utilize; creates reserving estimates for all lines of business and assists with financial- and claims-related items, helping the organization to succeed using our insurance expertise. We aim to improve practices and efficiency across the organization, while using data to the fullest potential to gain insights that help our underwriting and management teams meet our goals.

Role Description :

As an Actuarial Analyst III - Pricing, you'll take on a critical role assisting in building, improving, and maintaining pricing models for our direct lines of business. As a remote employee, you'll be expected to work independently with minimal supervision collaborating with departments across the organization including Underwriting and IT to ensure models are functioning as intended, that data is captured seamlessly in online data tables, and that pricing methods follow actuarial standards of practice and company policies. It's also expected the position will help build reports and dashboards to provide insights to Management and other Departments and to ensure company is achieving company goals. This role is ideal for an actuarial professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to make data-driven contributions that shape pricing strategy and company performance.

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• This position is open to candidates who wish to work remote but will require travel to our home office in Saint Louis, MO a few times per year
• 2 or more exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society and actively pursuing actuarial credentials
• 4 or more years of experience in commercial lines pricing at an insurance company or rating bureau
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software
• Experience with SQL, VBA, Power BI, and Python or R
• Strong analytical and programming skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective communication skills

Safety National is committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-based compensation. In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target base salary range for this position is $86,000 to $112,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
