General Manager

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the hotel, and some of the duties and responsibilities are outlined below :

1. Manage the motel to make sure it is an efficient and profitable operation.

2. Establish standards for personal administration and performance, service to guests, room rates, advertising, and publicity.

3. Assists in planning budgets for the departments, and authorizes expenditures.

4. Interviews, hires, and evaluates personnel, and gets valid IDs from hired employees.

5. Answers guests complaints and resolves problems.

6. Inspect guest rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness appearance.

7. Process reservations.

8. Checks guests in and out.

9. Verify guests payment methods during check-in.

10. Answer guest questions about the motel.

11. Ensure company standards for housekeeping, dcor, and guest services are met.

12. Market motel to local businesses including government organizations, so their guests stay at our motel.

13. Provide reports to management with marketing efforts, room usage, and staff status.

14. Create schedules for employees.

15. Be sure the motel does not run out of supplies.

16. Keep the Business Manager and owners on issues that arise.

17. Attend local events to market the motel.

18. Host site open house and other events.

19. Other duties as assigned by owners.
