Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist / Physician to work locum shifts in Garden City Kansas (KS). Starting as soon as possible, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

The Obstetrics and Gynecology role :

LOCUM POSITION DETAILS # 48654

• Duration : Stretches of at least 7 days / month
• Assignment : Physician working in clinic during the week seeing ob / gyn patients for new obstetrics, established obstetrics, new gynecology issues, and surgical consultations.
• Surgical blocks are twice per week for non-emergent surgeries.
• Shifts are 24 hour shifts from 7 am to 7 am and includes all obstetrics as well as emergency gynecology and obstetrics cases.
• Setting : Clinic and Inpatient Call
• One internal OBGYN with high volumes, one internal Certified Midwife with high volumes and one internal FM OB.
• Required Procedures / Job Duties : All ob / gyn procedures including more than 5 c-section in last 24 months & more than 5 hysterectomies in last 24 months.
• EMR : EPIC
• Support Staff : Lab Tech, LPN / LVN, MA, X-ray Tech, RN
• Physicians working with CRNA's and midwives
• Reason for Coverage : 2 vacancies
• Must have the following within the past 24 months for presentation : at least 5 hysterectomies and at least 5 C sections.
• Will NOT consider candidates wishing to do clinic only
• Census : Patient population, Adult, Adolescent
• Number of beds, 10; SCH NICU 2;
• Admissions : Clinic 16-25; Inpatient 3-6
• Additional Info : NICU available staffed with neonatal nurse practitioner with tele-neonatologist back-up at Garden City only.
• Facility has back-up with skilled general surgeons & urologist
• St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City also has critical care physicians and cardiologists.
• Do you know how many births each facilities does approximately each year? 50 births per month at each facility, 600 per year.
• Can you give a day to day census of what the provider does to give the candidates an idea of what the
• provider should expect? Clinic is 3.5 days a week & 2 half OR days, No robot
• How many surgeries are scheduled per week for OR days at SCH? 4-6 per week.
• Can you detail the clinic expectations for this need? 75% GYN patients, 25% OB Patients. Monday (AM surgery), Tues-Thurs Clinic (9a-11a, 1p-4p, Friday (AM surgery). We can accommodate PM clinic on Mondays if needed.
