Mechanical Designer / Engineer (Contract) (Oxnard, CA area,93030) Job Description : Responsible for creating and modifying technical designs and drawings using computer software. They play a crucial role in the product development process, collaborating with design teams, engineers, and architects to translate conceptual ideas into detailed and accurate 2D and 3D models. Top 5 skills needed : 1) Have strong SolidWorks, AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor Experience. SW 2022 is our current version. 2) Have working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 (2018 preferred). 3) Have some experience with machined metal processes. 4) Understand basic configuration management requirements (e.g. ECO’s, document revision control), 5) Experience with Engineering Change software (We currently use DIGITHREAD) for ECO's, ECN's, etc. Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer / Engineer to join our design team and contribute to the development of innovative products. This person will be responsible for creating and modifying technical drawings, models, and blueprints using CAD software. They will work closely with designers, engineers, and architects to translate conceptual designs into accurate and detailed technical specifications. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in CAD software tools. Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Create accurate 2D and 3D models, drawings, and blueprints using CAD software.
• Modify existing designs to incorporate changes and improvements as directed by the project team.
• Ensure that all designs and drawings adhere to industry standards and specifications.
• Experience of GD&T, ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 (2018 preferred).
• Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of designs to identify any errors or discrepancies.
• Work closely with the engineering team to resolve design issues and optimize designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
• Provide support during the prototyping and testing phases, making necessary adjustments to designs as required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of design changes, revisions, and versions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the design and development process.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in CAD software and techniques, and recommend process improvements as appropriate. Qualifications and Skills :
• 2 years minimum experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field (Preferred but not required).
• Proven experience as a CAD Engineer with Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical design standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating and modifying technical drawings.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve design issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Have proficient writing and verbal skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is desirable. Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software is a plus.
• Must be available to work on-site in Oxnard, CA
