Are you an experienced Engineering Manager looking to make a meaningful impact in the medical device industry? James Moore HR Solutions is assisting a Daytona-based, growth-oriented manufacturing company in its search for a results-driven leader to guide its engineering operations, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional product quality in a regulated environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead & Develop : Manage day-to-day engineering operations and cultivate a high-performance, team-oriented culture.
  • Launch New Products : Work with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure products are designed for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
  • Optimize Processes : Oversee development and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) of robust, scalable manufacturing processes.
  • Mitigate Risk : Apply FMEA and other analytical tools to proactively manage potential production risks.
  • Drive Efficiency : Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to improve cycle times, quality, and cost savings.
  • Standardize Practices : Develop best practices, technical documentation, and standardized workflows.
  • Measure Performance : Track and improve KPIs like yield, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Collaborate Broadly : Align engineering goals with Sales, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Manage Budgets : Oversee departmental budgets and optimize resource allocation
  • Communicate with Impact : Represent engineering in key meetings, initiatives, and stakeholder engagements.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related discipline); Master's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing, including 3+ in a leadership role
  • Expertise in ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and process validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, automation, and capital / expense budgeting
  • Background in extrusion, RF welding, or injection molding is a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Minitab, and Microsoft Project
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams and clearly explain complex technical concepts
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects on time and within budget
