Must-Have :

Must have experience with Level II NICU.

Must be experienced with stabilization and attending high and low-risk deliveries.

Must be able to attend both high and low-risk deliveries and care for neonates in the nursery.

Must have postpartum couplet care experience.

Postpartum experience preferred, but candidates with NICU experience may be considered.

Description :

The role requires specialized care for babies born with low birth weight, prematurity, and those recovering from serious conditions.

Common diagnoses include respiratory conditions, hemodynamic issues, and substance abuse in newborns.

Candidates will stabilize and transfer infants below 32 weeks.

The unit has 10 beds with nurse to patient ratios of 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 depending on acuity.

Registered Nurses will manage common drips such as TPN and lipids.

There is a Charge Nurse present on each shift, and they do take assignments.

No nurse aides or patient care techs are available on the unit.

A Neonatologist or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is available 24 / 7.

Registered Nurses are required to troubleshoot equipment such as vents and Cpap.

There is flexibility with scheduling, as long as it meets the needs of the department.

Every other weekend and holiday rotation is required.

There is no call or standby requirement.

Candidates may float to other areas as needed.

Scrubs will be provided.

Unit-specific orientation includes compliance training and an Epic class.

Feedback and support are encouraged, promoting quality work and adaptability to workflows.

The cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shifts to be canceled during an assignment.

The charting system used is Epic.

Candidates need to ensure they hold the required licenses and certifications.
