Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Executive Director – Institutional Advancement or designee, the Graphic Designer is responsible for program and publication efforts promoting the college.

Supervisory Role Oral and written instructions are received from the Executive Director – Institutional Advancement or designee. The Graphic Designer may supervise support staff and student workers. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Design, develop and implement professional publicity materials promoting college programs, including cultural celebrations, excursion activities, and performing arts and lecture presentations.

2. Assist with the development of marketing graphic design strategies that will promote the college, and its programs and services.

3. Design and develop artwork for a broad range of digital or printing projects including e-blasts, website needs, promotional literature, brochures, fliers, invitations, posters and banners.

4. Prepare camera-ready materials for print production utilizing both computer graphics and traditional paste-up formats.

5. Provide creative input in project layout and job specifications involving all phases of graphic art and design and that work within the College’s branding and logo guidelines.

6. Coordinate the design and posting of printed materials for bulletin boards maintained by the college. Regulate advertisement requests regarding bulletin boards in accordance with established procedures.

7. Handle multiple, time-sensitive design projects from conception to delivery including associated costing, scheduling, and administrative activities ensuring the implementation and delivery of high-quality work product and excellent customer service.

8. Maintain strict confidentiality and security of student, staff and client records.

9. Prepare routine, special and ancillary reports as required.

Minimum Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and / or Abilities 1. Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2. Knowledge of graphic design and computer graphic systems and software.

    3. Ability to conceptualize key elements and provide abstract graphic design proposals.

    4. Ability to work under pressure, independently and cooperatively with people in a detail oriented situation.

    5. Knowledge of publications / marketing development.

    6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    7. Excellent interpersonal skills.

    8. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

    9. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver’s license, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and / or Abilities 1. Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design or related area.

    2. Additional, ongoing training in computer graphics or related area to remain current with constantly evolving advancements in the field.

    3. Proven skills in development of publications and other graphics related media.

    4. Comprehensive knowledge of college administration, policies and procedures. Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver’s license, etc.)
