DIRECTOR, INDIVIDUAL PHILANTHROPY
Reports to : Chief of Strategic Engagement
Location : Candidates need to be available to maintain a hybrid work arrangement, and preference will be given to candidates in SF, NYC, or DC
Classification : Regular, Full-Time, FLSA Exempt
Compensation : A competitive compensation package of salary and benefits will be offered to attract an outstanding candidate. The anticipated range for base compensation is $125,000-$145,000.

Position Summary
The Director, Individual Philanthropy will serve as a key leader within The Asia Foundation’s individual philanthropy team, responsible for designing, implementing, and expanding a robust individual giving program. This role will focus on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of mass and major donors, as well as building strategies to engage high-net-worth individuals globally.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, relationship builder, and results-oriented fundraiser with a proven record of securing significant gifts in the $50,000+ range and the ability to inspire philanthropic investment in international causes.
An understanding of The Asia Foundation’s work and the ability to speak about the importance of international development is important. A collaborative, entrepreneurial spirit and the drive to build something new are fundamental to success (and hopefully, an exciting reason to join the team!).
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute a multi-year strategy to grow individual giving revenue, with an emphasis on major gifts, legacy giving, and endowment campaigns.
- Partner with the CSE to identify and engage prospects.
- Oversee donor pipeline management and forecasting for individual philanthropy.
- Manage and guide professional growth of IP team.
