Studio Director (MEP)

Location : Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex

Position Type : Full-Time, On-Site (1⁄2 Day Fridays)

Employment Type : Direct Hire

Salary : $85,000–$120,000+ (DOE) + Bonus

CornerStone Professional Placement is partnering with a leading architectural firm recognized for its innovation, growth, and fast-paced project delivery. We’re seeking an experienced Studio Director (MEP) to lead a high-volume studio specializing in retail and commercial development projects.

This is a key leadership role focused on project excellence, team growth, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, servant leader with strong communication, technical expertise, and a passion for driving team and client success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the success, performance, and development of the studio team
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all client and project communications
  • Collaborate with Senior PMs, PMs, and PCs to align resource allocation and project schedules
  • Manage project execution from kickoff through permitting (typically 6-week turnaround)
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, quality, and delivery timelines across 40–50 concurrent projects
  • Mentor and train team members on client programs and internal best practices
  • Review and approve construction documentation and drawings
  • Support business development and client relationship efforts
  • Manage staffing assignments, performance evaluations, and workload balancing
  • Contribute to proposals, fee structures, and project budgeting
  • Oversee project milestones, budgets, and quality control
  • Foster open communication, accountability, and collaboration throughout the studio

    • Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in architecture or design, ideally managing high-volume commercial / retail projects
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving studio performance
  • Licensed Architect preferred
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Photoshop for 2D elevations a plus)
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems and permitting processes
  • Experience with QSR (Quick Serve Restaurants) , retail developers, or shopping centers is highly desirable
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-volume workloads
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
