Job Title : JV Girls Basketball Assistant Coach

Classification : Temporary, Non-exempt, Seasonal

Reports To : Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director

Dates : Nov 3 to Mid February

Job purpose

To help create and promote a healthy team, player / coach, coach to coach dynamic

Create a space for students to have the opportunity to participate in sport specific training during their modified season

Duties and responsibilities

Be present at team gatherings

Create and coordinate opportunities for the team to develop camaraderie

Assist with planning, directing and supervising workouts

Assist the head coach in practice execution

Support the head coach

Adjust typical practice plans to accommodate for COVID restrictions

Manage equipment

Participate in coaching meetings

Communicate with team as necessary

Assist with uniform collection at end of the season

Ride the team bus for practice and or games when necessary

Complete coaching education as required by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF)

Qualifications

Undergraduate Degree preferred

Knowledge of sport

High school or above playing experience

Ability to improve team dynamics

Organized, positive, patient

Enjoys working with teenagers

Previous playing or coaching experience

Physical requirements

Essential Physical Tasks : To work on your feet for multiple hours and wearing a mask.
