Travel RN Job Details - Memphis, TN Location : Memphis, TN 38104 (ideal for those seeking Tennessee nursing jobs or Memphis healthcare opportunities) Facility : Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center Unit : 6 NORTH - 45-bed surgical oncology / med-surg floor Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (Med / Surg RN) Start Dates : January 5, 2026 or January 12, 2026 Assignment Length : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift, 4x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00) Total Hours : 48 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780-$1910 per week Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 / 7, team nursing model Weekend & On-Call : As needed Local Traveler Policy : Must reside at least 100 miles from facility Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (NLC guidelines apply) Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience (required for Med / Surg travel nurse jobs) At least 1 completed previous travel nursing assignment Level I Trauma Center experience required Experience in large hospital settings required BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Cerner charting experience preferred Ability to work 2 of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) Travelers must submit all requested time off (RTO) at time of application Not accepting first-time travelers Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy surgical oncology / medical-surgical unit Manage patient ratios of 1 : 6 / 7 using a collaborative team nursing approach Perform wound care, manage drains, ostomies, Foleys, and central lines (PAC, PICC, midlines) Administer chemotherapy (ONS nurses only), conscious sedation, and IV starts Utilize PCA pumps and provide care for patients receiving chemotherapy Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, and Social Services Float between similar units and campuses within 20 miles as needed Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner (preferred) Ready to take your nursing career to the next level in Memphis, TN?
