PT - Maintenance Support Worker, Groundskeeper
Salary : $15.00 per hour
Summary of Function : Completes and accomplishes all duties, cleaning and maintenance projects aligned with the trades departments within Facilities Management.
Typical Duties :
- Serves students. Performs custodial duties such as : cleaning dorm rooms and bathrooms; cleaning refrigerators; washing windows; waxing floors; moving furniture; vacuuming carpets; shampooing carpets; replacing light bulbs; restocking toilet paper; cleaning outside of building including walls, sidewalks and stairs.
- Performs HVAC duties such as : replacing dual shaft electric motors; cleaning coils and straightening fins; removing, cleaning, painting and reinstalling grills; removing, repairing and reinstalling ceiling grid and tiles; cleaning above ceiling tiles; washing and lubricating blower motors and blower wheels; verifying proper operation of thermostats; cleaning strainers and blowing down plugged coils and vent trapped air. Assist in any hot work.
- Performs electrician duties such as cleaning substations and mechanical rooms, testing and repairing lights and signs, and replacing ballasts and batteries.
- Performs carpenter duties such as : patching holes in wall; painting; recoating roofs; patching roofs; replacing bathroom fixtures; and patching flooring or carpet.
- Performs groundskeeping duties such as : trimming and pruning trees and plants; mowing and edging campus lawns and playing fields; sweeping and painting parking lots; picking up trash and debris from campus grounds; digging holes to uncover utilities and sprinkler lines; moving rock; and assisting in concrete repairs.
- Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
Entry level training or experience in basic skills crafts, or specifically in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry or other related mechanical trade.Additional Eligibility Requirements :
