American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with a current CA license and at least 3 years of neonatal ICU experience for a night shift contract assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a Level III NICU at a community hospitalPrimarily cares for premature infants, respiratory distress, multiples, LPI, ELBW, hypoglycemic, sepsis, and occasional surgical patientsPatient acuity ranges from highly acute to feeder / grower cases with census between 5 and 20Nurses float to PICU and general pediatrics, including units with VTM and Eating Disorder Medical Stabilization patientsNight shifts are 3x12 hours, 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AMSelf-scheduling is available within unit needsEpic is used for documentationNurses attend high-risk deliveries, utilize Bubble CPAP, handle PICC lines, perform infant-driven feeds, and draw labsRequired to schedule 6 weekend shifts per 6-week periodMust not request holiday RTO and maximum 7 days off during contractSupportive and team-oriented unit cultureCentralized Milk Handling; assignments allow time for parent teaching and interactionTravelers are first to float according to unit needsMust complete modules during orientation; modules are self-reportedFirst-time travelers are accepted with proper experience and fitReturn staff must have been separated for at least one year before reapplying\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license in hand at time of applicationMinimum 3 years of NICU RN experienceCurrent certifications in BCLS, PALS, and NRPComfortable responding to potential RSI and codesExperience with Epic EMR preferredMust provide two recent supervisor-level references from within the last yearCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
