Business Intelligence Engineer - Forecasting at Amazon

Are you a detail-oriented and analytical individual looking for a challenging opportunity? Amazon’s North America Sort Centers is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our dedicated S&OP Forecasting team. Our Sort Centers play a crucial role in the Amazon Transportation Services by ensuring efficient delivery and customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions that enhance our middle mile network, ensuring high-quality customer experiences while optimizing costs and improving fulfillment speed. You will collaborate across functions and engage in long-term program planning. Ideal candidates will excel in analytical and communication skills and thrive in dynamic environments, working closely with Operations Research-based tools and teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement advanced BI solutions to address complex problems with significant long-term impacts.
  • Manage the analytics domain, including BI architecture and modeling necessary for strategic operational planning.
  • Create reporting systems that deliver actionable insights using strong quantitative analysis.
  • Engage with stakeholders within the ATS team to develop impactful solutions.
  • Execute Operations Research (OR) models and analyze resulting data.
  • Collaborate with Network Planners, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to guide business decisions.
  • Identify and address gaps in forecasting tools, providing feedback to the Data Sciences team.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis and interpretation using platforms such as Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Experience with SQL and Python for data processing and modeling.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, forecasting, and statistical analysis.
