Euroturn Machinist

Job Focus

Responsible for set-up, tool, retool, operation, inspection and provide statistical process control information for all products produced. Ensure total process / quality control during the production of all parts

Specific Duties

• Operate and maintain Euroturn 8-Spindle and 6-Spindle Machines
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, materials onto machines
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process, ensure proper indexing and fit with correct spindle and feed gears for the job you are producing
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
• Machine parts to specifications
• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machine operations
• Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers
• Set controls to regulate machine
• Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
