Role Overview
The purpose of this position is to provide a high level of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) technical support to engineering, projects, sales and customers, acting as the Mitsubishi Power subject matter expert for HRSGs for use in combined cycle power plants. The role involves significant interaction with Customer teams, EPC teams, Mitsubishi Power applications engineering, global sourcing, site personnel and project management teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for implementation of HRSG in combined cycle power projects, leading the technical review and evaluation of all HRSG aspects from proposal through warranty, supporting proposal teams, engineering teams, project teams, supply chain teams and warranty teams.
- Provide technical leadership and direction for evaluation of field issues, conducting analysis to identify root cause and developing solutions and recommendations for implementation.
- Act as single point of contact for HRSG technical issues across multiple projects, guiding project engineers toward appropriate solutions.
- Lead and provide technical leadership for evaluation of bids from various suppliers and provide technical recommendations for HRSG supplier selection.
- Develop best practices and guidelines for the team for successful HRSG implementation.
- Review and approve HRSG technical documents prepared by the team / suppliers.
- Review Mitsubishi Power client technical specifications against product offerings and provide comments to clients.
- Prepare / review technical specifications for HRSG purchase, including the following document types.
- Interact with HRSG suppliers / sub-suppliers to determine guarantees to offer in Mitsubishi Power proposals.
- Coordinate with offsite / overseas teams for HRSG-related scope of work.
- Participate in combined cycle project contract negotiations with customers and act as the subject matter HRSG technical expert to discuss and negotiate technical aspects of the project.
- Participate in HRSG contract negotiations with suppliers and act as the subject matter expert to discuss and negotiate technical aspects of the project.
- Meet with customers to resolve outstanding technical concerns prior to contract award and during contract execution.
- Lead HRSG design reviews with suppliers, customers and EPC contractors to ensure mutual project success during contract execution.
- Travel to plant sites to assist in resolving technical issues related to HRSG design, installation or performance.
- Support Mitsubishi Power initiatives for combined cycle plant and product improvements.
- Act as a mentor for engineers in the team and provide guidance on HRSG engineering activities.
Requirements
Education and / or Experience : Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university; and fifteen (15) years related experience and / or training. Master's degree in engineering is preferable.At least 15 years of engineering experience with the design and working knowledge of HRSG components or systems in an HRSG OEM, EPC engineering firm, or gas turbine OEM supplying HRSGs in a project engineering stage; working knowledge of combined cycle power plants. Experience in identifying root causes and resolving field issues related to HRSG is preferable.Working knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section I and B31.1, PTC 4.4, PTC 46 and other related codes and standards.Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and general business communications; ability to write reports and present information to managers and clients.Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret various technical instructions and diagrams.Computer Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of database software, project management software, graphics, technical diagrams, and flow charts.Why should you apply?
