Safety Coordinator, VA

Overview

Seeking 2 Safety Coordinators in Norfolk, VA to assist with a long term Road Connector Project. Must have roadway experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met.
• Conduct site inspections of project work areas and equipment.
• Develop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standards.
• Assist in the investigation of accidents and determine root causes and recommend corrective / preventive measures.
• Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
• Coordinate and conduct safety meetings / training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees.
• Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and climb multiple flights of stairs.
• Outside role, working rotating Days and Night shifts.
