Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg position with day shifts and proficiency in cardiac drips required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg and ortho unit with MS / tele overflow
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, 7 : 00 am to 7 : 30 pm
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 6 to 1 : 7
  • Cardiac drip medications including cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone are commonly used
  • Block scheduling may be available
  • May care for both orthopedic and telemetry overflow patients
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Scrubs must be navy blue
  • Modules and additional onboarding coursework will be required prior to starting
  • Must provide a copy of driver’s license and Social Security card
  • Cardiac telemetry experience is preferred for overflow situations

  • Active AL or compact RN license is required or license must be pending at the time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience required
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Must be proficient with cardiac drips
  • Must have experience in large healthcare facilities
  • Previous permanent staff are not eligible for travel positions within 10 years
  • Candidates who reside within a 90 mile radius are not eligible
  • Two professional references are required for consideration
