Position Overview

Hays Electrical Services is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team to help manage and process payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage laws, ensuring accurate and timely payroll for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process weekly / biweekly payroll for 1,000+ employees, including hourly, salary, and jobsite-based staff.
• Review and validate timecards, ensuring all job codes, cost centers, and classifications are correct.
• Coordinate with jobsite supervisors and managers to resolve time entry discrepancies prior to payroll submission.
• Process adjustments, garnishments, deductions, and reimbursements accurately and on time.
• Maintain payroll tax compliance (federal, state, and local) and keep up with changes to wage / tax laws and assist with certified payroll reporting (Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage, local / state requirements).
• Assist with maintenance of timekeeping hardware (Kiosk Mode, geofencing, etc.).
