Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 3 years of Cardio-Thoracic surgery experience and an active CO or compact RN license for a Level 1 Trauma Center assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a hospital Operating Room with 41 surgical suites
  • Level 1 Trauma Center with a patient ratio of 1 : 1 in the OR
  • Handles a variety of cases including General, GU / GYN, Neuro, ENT, and Plastics
  • Day shifts (3x12 hours, 06 : 45–19 : 15) scheduled across all days of the week
  • Floating required to other Operating Rooms within the hospital as needed
  • Weekend and on-call shifts required according to unit needs, with approximately 6 on-call shifts per 8-week schedule
  • Must complete hospital modules during onboarding, typically averaged at 4 hours and completed pre-start or during the first day
  • No blocked scheduling requests will be honored
  • Maximum of 10 requested time off (RTO) days allowed per 13-week contract
  • RTO is not permitted during specified blackout dates
  • First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
  • Scrub color and dress code will be provided upon hire

    • Requirements

  • Active CO or compact RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years recent Cardio-Thoracic Operating Room experience as a circulator, scrub, or both
  • Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma setting required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • No first-time travelers will be considered
  • Candidates must not have worked for or applied to UCHealth or its affiliates as staff or internal travel clinicians in the last two years
