THE WORK

The CH53K maintenance team performs a wide variety of repairs, maintenance and modifications to support the USMC fleet. Qualified candidates must be able to perform a variety of operations such as connector and wire repair, System check-outs, modifications and troubleshooting. Under minimal supervision perform a variety of moderately complex tasks and be skilled in the use of precision measuring devices (multi-meters, air data test sets etc.), wire and connector repair kits. Must be able to remove, install and test Avionic systems on the aircraft, remove and replace wire harnesses, including termination of wires, routing of wires, clamping, string tying, changing circuit breakers, batteries, Pitot / Static system checkout and troubleshoot. Familiarity with aircraft data-bus systems and repair. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs aircraft electrical systems.

Typical roles include, major modifications of electrical systems and wiring, incorporation of ECP’s, Technical Directives, ASAMS, ASB’s, and CSN’s, validate and verify retrofit upgrades and administer training to customers (OJT).

Become familiar with and support the organizations Quality policy and objectives and self- inspect work prior to final quality inspection.

Comply with all EH&S policies and applicable regulatory rules and requirements. Report immediately to supervision, conditions or practices that are either unsafe or may adversely impact the environment.

Desired skills

  • Familiarity with Sikorsky engineering systems such as Solumina and Matrix is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NAVAIR Technical Directives.
  • CH53K maintenance and operations experience
  • Working knowledge of NAVAIR's OOMA system.
  • Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP 4790)
