Assistant Teacher – Full-Time (10:00am–6:30pm)
Location: The Learning Experience – Upper West Side, NY
Pay: $19 - $21 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 10:00am–6:30pm

The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is seeking a caring, reliable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Our center provides a warm, engaging, and supportive environment where children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships.


This role is perfect for someone who loves working with young children and wants to grow in the childcare and preschool field.


What You’ll Do

• Support Lead Teachers in daily classroom activities and routines
  
  
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
  
  
• Assist with playtime, meals/snacks, cleanup, transitions, diapering/toileting (as age-appropriate)
  
  
• Engage children through play, conversation, and hands-on activities
  
  
• Help keep classrooms clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  
  
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and teammates
  
  
• Step into different classrooms (Infants, Toddlers, Preschool) as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
  
  
• Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, camp, or childcare setting preferred
  
  
• Coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus (not required)
  
  
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  
  
• Must meet New York childcare licensing requirements
  
  
• Reliable, positive, and team-oriented
