Position Summary
The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager supports the Food and Beverage Manager in delivering exceptional dining and event experiences to club members and guests. This role assists in managing all food and beverage operations — including restaurants, bars, banquets, and special events — ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and presentation. The Assistant Manager plays a key leadership role in maintaining a welcoming, member-focused environment that reflects the traditions and excellence of the club.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
Assist in daily management of all dining venues, lounge / bar operations, and banquet facilities.
Supervise staff performance to ensure smooth, efficient, and courteous service.
Maintain cleanliness, setup standards, and readiness across all F&B outlets.
Support scheduling, labor management, and inventory control to meet budget goals.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and club standards at all times.
Member & Guest Experience
Promote a member-first culture by anticipating needs and exceeding expectations.
Engage with members on the floor to build relationships and gather feedback.
Resolve member or guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Support special dining events, tournaments, and holiday functions to enhance the club experience.
Team Development
Recruit, train, and coach service and bar staff to uphold club standards.
Lead daily briefings to communicate priorities, events, and service goals.
Foster teamwork, professionalism, and accountability among all team members.
Identify and mentor high-potential staff for future growth within the club.
Event & Banquet Management
Assist with planning, setup, and execution of banquets, weddings, and private functions.
Coordinate with the catering, culinary, and events teams to ensure flawless service.
Oversee room setups, staffing, timing, and member satisfaction during events.
Financial & Administrative
Monitor labor, inventory, and cost of goods to achieve financial targets.
Review POS reports, event billing, and member charges for accuracy.
Support the Food and Beverage Manager with budgeting and monthly reporting.
Help identify opportunities for menu innovation, promotions, and member engagement.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience, preferably in a private club, resort, or upscale hospitality environment.
Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a hands-on management style.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a member-service mindset.
Solid knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service standards.
Experience with POS systems and event management software.
ServSafe or TIPS certification preferred.
Flexible schedule — must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by club operations.
