Sirius Staffing is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent for a direct hire opportunity in Augusta, GA. A background in the wood products industry is preferred, but candidates with experience in a heavy industrial environment will also be considered.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, self-directed, and confident in their decision-making abilities, with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Meet production and uptime goals while making safety the highest priority.
- Lead within a culture of reliability, using preventive and predictive maintenance practices to drive continuous improvement and maximize plant uptime.
- Apply advanced maintenance systems, including root cause and gap analysis, to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance team schedules and detailed planning processes to support all mechanical and electrical plant functions.
- Provide training and mentorship for maintenance and operations teams, enhancing their skills and operational focus.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments and leadership levels, demonstrating strong motivational and relationship-building skills.
- Support the General Manager, Production Superintendents, and Supervisors to ensure safety, quality, production, and cost objectives are met.
- Manage and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and contractors.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise on the mill floor to maintain and improve plant operations.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years experience supervising maintenance in an industrial setting.Proven knowledge and experience with effective reliability programs.Demonstrated leadership in change management and a commitment to continuous improvement.Strong understanding of Safe Work Procedures and OSHA regulations.Strategic thinker and tenacious problem-solver who applies data-driven, critical thinking to decisions.Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
