SUMMARY: At a rank to be determined, the faculty member will teach courses in the Music and Worship program at Boyce College, the undergraduate division of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and participate as needed in other activities in support of the mission of Boyce College.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Adjunct faculty members in the Teacher Education program have the following essential job functions:
- Develop and teach Private Applied Studies: Primary and Secondary Voice within the Music and Worship program.
- Teach consistent with and not contrary to the Abstract of Principles and the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator of the Boyce Music and Worship to ensure course outcomes are met.
- Reviews assessments of the music classes and recommend changes and modifications to the Program Coordinator.
- Participate in ongoing instructional and student assessment efforts, as needed.
- Be generally available to meet with and mentor students as needed.
- Participate in adjunct trainings as required by Boyce College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
- Develop strategic professional objectives and report them to the Dean on an annual basis.
- Perform other duties as needed by the Program Coordinator or the Dean.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A master's degree in a field related to the subject.
- Testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of a mature Christian lifestyle.
- Professional and/or pastoral experience in the field (preferred but not required).
- Full agreement with the Abstract of Principles (http://www.sbts.edu/about/truth/abstract/) and the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message (http://www.sbts.edu/about/truth/bfm/).
- Support for the mission and vision of Boyce College.
