Manufacturing Engineer - Combustion Components

Overview

Manufacturing Engineer - Combustion Components role focusing on complex gas turbine combustion components in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will participate in daily Gemba meetings, work on the shop floor with operators to build robust manufacturing processes for new product releases, and collaborate with design and service engineering on design for manufacturing (DFM) topics for new and refurbished combustion hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement product-specific processes used to manufacture complex gas turbine combustion components.
• Participate in and lead manufacturing and repair process development and improvement projects on gas turbine combustion components. Work with design and repair engineering colleagues on new product introduction, process development, and industrialization.
• Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floor via technical instructions and project briefings.
• Provide technical guidance and training to operators, technicians, and manufacturing engineers on the use of fixtures, tooling, and equipment.

Combustion Component Manufacturing focuses on the manufacture of transition ducts and combustor baskets that deliver hot gas to the first stage of the turbine, working closely with combustion design engineering on cutting-edge technology, including the 9000HL gas turbine.
