Software Engineer (Mainframe Data)

Responsibilities:

• Be part of the mainframe migration process by working with legacy applications while preparing for the future state by learning new tools and technologies through upskilling
• Work on projects from initial kickoff to production deployment and identifying potential technical risks
• Execute the creation of designs and development efforts within Agile
• Identify opportunities to modernize technology and streamline processes to enhance performance and reduce risk
• Establish a working relationship and facilitate on-going dialog with technical leads, team members and managers
• Study and invest time in learning new and emerging trends and technologies
• Develop an understanding of the insurance industry and products

• 2+ years' enterprise engineering experience
• Experience with SQL and ETL
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience resolving issues independently and communication findings to senior leadership and business stakeholders
• BONUS: Knowledge of a mainframe technologies; Assembler, CICS, PL1, COBOL, IDMS, DB2, VSAM
• BONUS: Experience with OpenText Exstream and/or IBM DataStage
